I’m always looking for that precious spark in every shot I take; mindful that I only have one chance to get it right.
From a practical perspective, I apply every skill I have learned in use of light and space. Then, there’s the subject matter itself. People. Usually happy but sometimes a bit stressed and emotional. So I make sure I get some spontaneous moments as well as the all-important posed collection of family, extended family, friends and special guests. Formal or informal, I’ll get it for you.
Also, I use the best kit I can get my hands on. As I’ve said, there’s only one opportunity to get ‘that shot’. I won’t risk equipment error. It must always work.
Most wedding photography is on location. But I also have a small studio available for special portraiture. For example, if someone misses the wedding but you want them included in the group shots, I can do that for you too!
It is my experience that a good relationship between the photographer and the client pays dividends on the day. So, talk to me sooner rather than later. We’ll need time to discuss the kind of memories you want to capture. We can plan ahead to get the best out of unique venues and locations.

I cannot recommend James enough. He has been an absolute dream to work with. As soon as we booked James we had regular correspondence and he made us feel very at ease with everything. On the day James was amazing, very calm and just got on with things, snapping away in the background but also directing for the more formal shots. James did our wedding photography in October. When we first started looking for a photographer I really struggled to find someone who stood out to the style of photographs I wanted. When I found James there was no question who we were going with. Both the engagement shoot and the wedding photographs are incredible, he made everyone feel so relaxed and have a good laugh at the same time.
